Girls shine as govt colleges excel in BIEK Arts results

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Friday announced the results of the Intermediate Part-II (Class XII) annual examinations 2026 for the Arts Regular Group, with a pass percentage of 45.25%.

According to BIEK Chairman Prof Faqir Muhammad Lakho, Anshara bint Muhammad Taufiq of Iqra Huffaz Girls Science College, North Nazimabad, secured the first position with 926 marks out of 1,100, obtaining an A-1 grade. The second position was clinched by Aqib Razaq, son of Abdul Razaq, from Government Degree College Konkar Village, Gadap, who scored 919 marks with an A-1 grade. Humaera bint Muhammad Shakir Lakhani, also from Iqra Huffaz Girls Science College, grabbed the third position with 918 marks, achieving an A-1 grade.

Chairman Lakho said the performance of a government college student among the top position holders reflected the dedication of students, teachers and institutional leadership. He added that the consistent success of public sector students indicated a gradual improvement in the standard of education in Sindh.

Controller of Examinations Zarina Rashid said that 10,459 candidates had registered for the examinations, out of which 10,002 appeared. A total of 4,526 candidates were declared successful.

She added that 20 candidates secured A-1 grade, 274 obtained A grade, 762 B grade, 1,647 C grade, 1,659 D grade and 164 candidates passed with E grade, while two candidates were placed in the pass category.
