Want Miranda Priestly’s clothes? Meryl Streep is auctioning Miranda Priestly ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ wardrobe for charity
Proceeds will support press freedom and fashion education through two major charities this September

Meryl Streep is giving fans of The Devil Wears Prada 2 an opportunity to own some of the film's most memorable fashion pieces while raising money for two charitable organisations. The Oscar winning actor has launched a special online auction featuring costumes and accessories from the blockbuster sequel, with proceeds benefiting the Committee to Protect Journalists and the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The auction is scheduled to run from September 1 to September 15 through Christie's. Ahead of the sale, selected items will be displayed during a free public exhibition in New York from September 8 to September 13, coinciding with NEW YORK FASHION WEEK. A live charity auction and invitation only cocktail event will also take place on September 10, offering additional luxury experiences inspired by the film.
Among the standout pieces available are Miranda Priestly's striking Dries Van Noten tassel jacket, Andy Sachs' famous cerulean sweater and a feather dress by Bad Binch TongTong designed by Terrence Zhou that was worn by Lady Gaga in the film. The collection showcases costumes that became central talking points following the sequel's theatrical release.
Streep encouraged fans to participate in the fundraiser through a statement promoting the event. She invited audiences to celebrate "truth and beauty, beauty and truth" while supporting journalism and fashion initiatives through their bids. She also encouraged fashion lovers to prepare for autumn by taking part in the global auction.
The charity initiative follows the successful return of The Devil Wears Prada franchise two decades after the original 2006 film. Released earlier this year, The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunited Streep with Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci as their beloved characters navigated the changing landscape of the fashion magazine industry amid the decline of traditional print media.
The sequel also welcomed several new faces, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, Patrick Brammall, Conrad Ricamora and Lady Gaga. The film became a major commercial success, earning approximately $691m worldwide and reigniting interest in Miranda Priestly's influence on fashion and popular culture.
Costume design has long been regarded as one of the defining elements of The Devil Wears Prada series. The original film transformed luxury fashion into a central storytelling device, while Miranda Priestly's wardrobe became synonymous with authority, sophistication and high fashion. Andy Sachs' cerulean sweater also entered popular culture after the original film's memorable monologue explaining the hidden influence of the fashion industry on everyday clothing choices.
By making these costumes available to collectors, Streep is combining cinema history with philanthropy. The auction allows fans to own authentic screen worn wardrobe pieces while supporting organisations dedicated to protecting journalists worldwide and nurturing emerging fashion talent.
