Actor Adnan Siddiqui announced the return of the reality-television series Tamasha with its fifth season set to premiere today (August 7), sharing pictures with previous winners of the show.

The actor posted pictures with the former kings and queens of Tamasha, exciting fans with the promise of a season filled with drama. "Doors to the most awaited entertainer are opening soon. Let the drama be bigger and arguments meaner this time!" he captioned his Instagram post.

Tamasha is a reality-television programme in which a group of celebrity contestants live together in a house, cut off from the outside world while facing daily tasks, public evictions and dramatic conflicts. Siddiqui has overseen four seasons of the show that produced winners including Umer Aalam, Aruba Mirza, Malik Aqeel and Saif Ali Khan.

Just last week, fans were given a peek into the new edition, with a mini trailer showing contestants covering their faces as they approached the house.

Previous winners of the show also took to social media to share images from their reunion.

Season two winner Aruba Mirza captioned her post, "Every season creates new stories, but some victories become memories forever."

"Bigger house, bigger dreams!" he captioned his Instagram post.

At the same time, however, the show sparked debate over issues such as alleged sexist behaviour. The controversies, alongside the friendships, rivalries and conflicts inside the house, became a major part of what kept viewers invested in the show.

Now, with a new batch of contestants, a revamped house and the promise of drama, the new season appears set to once again dominate social media conversations.
