Meghan Markle celebrates 45th birthday with home dance as Prince Harry reacts: ‘Oh, dear’

Meghan Markle marked her 45th birthday with a series of playful moments at home with Prince Harry, sharing glimpses of the celebration on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 4.

Markle began her birthday posts with a black-and-white photograph of herself jumping into a pool while holding balloons. “Thank you for the birthday love,” she captioned the image.

She then shared a video of herself dancing in the kitchen to the “Happy Birthday” song as food cooked on the stove. Prince Harry, 41, could be heard reacting to her dancing by saying, “Oh, dear,” as Markle laughed.

For the celebration, Markle wore a white T-shirt featuring the words “It’s Giving Mrs.” with white lounge pants and a colourful birthday headband.

The couple also included their two dogs, black Labrador Pula and beagle Mia, in the festivities.

In another clip, they were heard trying to get the dogs to wear small birthday party hats, with Harry calmly asking them to sit and stay for the photo.

Markle's birthday also coincides with that of Harry’s late great-grandmother, Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who was born on August 4, 1900.

In his 2023 memoir, Spare, Harry recalled learning about the shared birthday during a visit to see his father, King Charles, in Scotland.

“The bond between Meg and Pa, always strong, grew even stronger during that weekend. One night, over pre-dinner cocktails, Fred Astaire playing in the background, it emerged that Meg shared a birthdate with Pa’s favorite person: Gan-Gan,” Harry wrote. “ ‘Amazing,’ Pa said with a smile.”
