Keke Palmer will host 'The Voice: Celebrity' as Carson Daly remains with series as producer

Keke Palmer has been announced as the new host of The Voice: Celebrity, marking the first time Carson Daly will step back from hosting duties since the competition series premiered.

NBC confirmed that season 31 will introduce a celebrity-focused format, with Palmer taking over as host while Daly remains involved as a producer. The new edition, titled The Voice: Celebrity, is scheduled to air in 2027.

Confirming the news in a video shared on Instagram, Palmer said, "That's right. It's true. I'm hosting The Voice. I'll see you guys there."

Daly, who has hosted every season since the programme's debut 16 years ago, will continue working behind the scenes on the new spin-off.

In an Instagram post, he described Palmer as a "triple threat queen" and said she was the "perfect" choice to lead the series.

"I'm so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. 🙏We're all big fans & welcome her to the family," Daly wrote.

He also clarified that he is not leaving the franchise, explaining that alongside producing The Voice: Celebrity, he will be "helping it launch from behind the scenes."

The upcoming season will introduce a new format in which actors, influencers, athletes, comedians and reality television personalities compete instead of undiscovered singers. Contestants will battle to become the programme's first celebrity champion.

Season 31 will also mark Joe Jonas' debut as a coach alongside returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

To celebrate the announcement, The Voice shared a promotional video on social media featuring Jonas jokingly creating a guest list that excluded Palmer.

The Voice: Celebrity will also introduce several new elements, including Voice Boot Camp, which offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look at contestants preparing for their Blind Auditions.

A new VIP Room will allow celebrity contestants to watch auditions together, while a Workroom segment will follow coaches and contestants as they prepare for the Battle rounds.

Before the celebrity edition debuts, season 30 of The Voice will premiere on September 21 with Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine serving as coaches.
