Alhamra summer art camp attracts young artists

LAHORE:

The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) has continued its Summer Art Camp despite extensive renovation work at its historic cultural complex and persistent monsoon rains, reaffirming its commitment to arts education and cultural development.

According to Alhamra, the camp has remained fully operational while one of the institution's largest infrastructure modernisation projects is under way.

Organisers said careful planning and coordinated efforts by faculty, administrative staff and support teams ensured that classes and creative activities continued without disruption.

The annual Summer Art Camp offers training in drawing, painting and calligraphy under the supervision of experienced instructors.

Alhamra said the programme has received an encouraging response from families, with admissions continuing even as the camp enters its final phase ahead of its conclusion on August 5.

"Every day at Alhamra brings something new to learn. This Summer Camp has made me more confident, and I enjoy expressing my ideas through art," said participant Ishal Umair.

Another student, Areej, said the camp had encouraged children to explore their creativity.

"The teachers encourage us to be creative and believe in ourselves. I will always remember this wonderful experience," she said.
