KARACHI:

In a major action against corruption within the judiciary, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the compulsory retirement of Senior Civil Judge Ayaz Ali Kanasro after an inquiry found him guilty of misconduct.

According to officials, SHC Chief Justice Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput passed the order after reviewing the inquiry report, holding a final hearing and examining the available evidence.

The inquiry, conducted by Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi, found allegations of corruption and misconduct against the judge to be proven, a member of the inspection team said.

Following completion of proceedings, the competent authority had recommended the judge's dismissal from service.
