Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman delighted fans with a surprise appearance at a special screening of Practical Magic held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, reuniting to celebrate the beloved 1998 film ahead of its long-awaited sequel.

The pair walked on stage unannounced during the Cinespia event, with Bullock joking that it was the "perfect movie to show in a cemetery" before thanking "the spirits that are floating around us". Kidman also expressed her gratitude to fans for helping make Practical Magic 2 a reality.

The actresses then introduced the "next generation" of the Owens family, welcoming Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play Sally Owens' daughters, Kylie and Antonia, in the upcoming sequel. Raising margaritas in a nod to one of the original film's most iconic scenes, Kidman invited the audience to toast "the coven".

Based on Alice Hoffman's novels, Practical Magic 2 reunites Bullock and Kidman with returning stars Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest. The sequel follows the Owens women as they travel from Massachusetts to the United Kingdom in an attempt to break the centuries-old curse haunting their magical family after Sally's daughter uncovers dark new powers.

Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 is set to arrive in cinemas on 11 September. The surprise reunion at Hollywood Forever Cemetery marks the start of the film's promotional campaign and delighted hundreds of fans who had gathered to watch the original cult classic under the stars.
