Fresh monsoon spell to keep city wet until Aug 3

KARACHI:

Karachi is set for another spell of monsoon rain, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting intermittent showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds to continue until August 3 as two active weather systems influence conditions across the region.

According to the PMD's Early Warning Centre, a depression over southern Madhya Pradesh, India, along with moisture-laden monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, continues to affect weather patterns across Pakistan. A western weather system is also expected to strengthen, bringing further rainfall to northern and central parts of the country.
