Samara Weaving has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the Ready or Not and Scream VI star cast as the iconic mutant Emma Frost in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot.

According to Variety, Weaving will portray the powerful telepath, also known as the White Queen, in the highly anticipated film, which will be directed by Jake Schreier. The project marks Marvel Studios' first major reboot of the X-Men franchise since regaining the screen rights to the characters.

Emma Frost is one of Marvel's most complex mutant characters. Initially introduced as a villain and member of the Hellfire Club, she later became a key ally of the X-Men and one of the franchise's most powerful telepaths. The character can also transform her body into organic diamond, making her nearly indestructible while sacrificing her psychic abilities in that form. Emma was previously portrayed by January Jones in X-Men: First Class.

Weaving has become one of Hollywood's most sought-after genre stars through performances in Ready or Not, The Babysitter, Scream VI and Azrael. Her casting follows months of speculation over who would play Emma Frost, with several actresses reportedly linked to the coveted role before Marvel finalised its decision.

The untitled X-Men reboot is being directed by Jake Schreier from a screenplay by Michael Lesslie. While Marvel has yet to reveal the full cast or plot details, the film is expected to introduce a new generation of mutants into the MCU following appearances by legacy X-Men characters in recent Marvel projects.
