BAJAUR:

Unidentified assailants destroyed a government primary school in the Kharki area of Tehsil Mamond by planting explosives inside the building late at night, local sources said.

The powerful blast severely damaged the school structure and spread fear across the locality. Police and other relevant officials reached the scene, collected evidence and launched an investigation. No group has claimed responsibility, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the motives or those involved.

The attack marks the second such incident in the same village within a week. A government middle school in the area was earlier destroyed by explosives.

In a separate incident the previous night, unidentified persons blew up the main gate of tribal leader Malik Shah Mehmood's residence in Loi Kharki, also in Tehsil Mamond. Police said there were no casualties, though the gate was damaged. DSP Niaz Muhammad told media that evidence had been collected and an investigation was under way to identify those responsible.
