Sindh restores six-day school week

The Sindh government has abolished the weekly Saturday holiday for all public and private schools and colleges across the province, restoring a six-day academic week with effect from August 1, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, teaching activities and regular classes will resume on Saturdays in all schools and colleges. Under the revised schedule, educational institutions will operate from Monday through Saturday.

The decision will take effect from August 1, coinciding with the start of the 2026-27 academic year.

The provincial government had earlier announced summer vacations for all public and private educational institutions from June 1 to July 31, 2026.

The Education Department has directed the management of all public and private schools and colleges to strictly implement the revised timetable and ensure that classes are conducted regularly from Monday to Saturday.
