Three of a family die in road crash
A speeding mini-truck hit a rickshaw, killing three members of a family, Manzoor Hussain, Shehnaz Bibi and four-year-old Adnan, on the spot. Three others were injured and shifted to a hospital.
Police said the family was travelling from Mian Channu to Chak No. 228-RB Bogni Makwana when the accident occurred at Khanewana Bypass Chowk. The truck driver fled.
In another accident, 12-year-old Qasim was killed after being hit by a speeding tractor-trolley near Chak No. 253-RB. Separately, 35-year-old Danish died and Javed Iqbal was injured in a collision between two vehicles on Satiana Road. In another accident on Millat Road, pedestrian Ghulam Sarwar was killed after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the road. Police initiated legal proceedings in the cases.
