Valencia deaths: poison supply under probe

.

LAHORE:

Investigations into the deaths of a woman and her three children in Valencia Town have revealed that suspected poisonous substance had been obtained through a parcel delivery.

Police also questioned a former college friend of the deceased after her name surfaced during the investigation.

The police have registered a murder case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and say the investigation is progressing on multiple fronts, with forensic evidence expected to determine the cause of death.

According to police sources, preliminary investigations suggest the deceased, Aleena, had allegedly arranged the suspected poisonous substance through an acquaintance. Rather than being delivered directly to her residence, the parcel was reportedly sent to the Johar Town home of the former college classmate who allegedly passed it on to her.

The woman, who had reportedly studied with the deceased in 2005, has been included in the investigation.

The police were also searching for the person suspected of dispatching the parcel and conducting raids to arrest the alleged supplier of the poisonous substance.
