Bars warn of protest over 'biased' inductions
.

All district and tehsil bar associations of Rawalpindi Division, along with members of the Punjab Bar Council, unanimously adopted a resolution protesting the continued exclusion of professional lawyers from the division in appointments to the Lahore High Court.
The meeting warned that if the practice continued, lawyers from Rawalpindi Division would be left with no option but to launch peaceful protests.
Participants unanimously constituted a committee of senior lawyers to meet constitutional authorities, present the bars' reservations and seek redress.
They said that if their concerns were not addressed, all bar associations in the division would jointly launch strong but peaceful and lawful protests.
The meeting was chaired by High Court Bar president Saeed Yousaf Khan.
The resolution stated that the continued neglect of lawyers from Rawalpindi Division since 2017 was unacceptable. Members of the Punjab Bar Council from the division also endorsed the resolution.
