'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' opens strong in China with massive advance ticket sales
Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' swings past 100 million yuan ahead of China debut

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already off to an impressive start in China, crossing 100 million yuan (about $14 million) in preview screenings and advance ticket sales ahead of its official release.
According to movie data platform Beacon Pro, the latest Spider-Man installment reached the milestone before opening in Chinese theaters on July 29, making China one of the first major markets to screen the film, two days ahead of its North American debut.
To celebrate the release, stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jacob Batalon recorded a special video message greeting Chinese audiences and thanking fans for their support.
The film follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker continuing his life as Spider-Man after the world has forgotten his identity.
As he protects New York on his own, he faces a dangerous new group of villains in the next chapter of the Marvel franchise.
The strong pre-release performance suggests Spider-Man: Brand New Day is poised for a solid opening in one of the world's biggest movie markets.
