Sharjeel accuses PML-N of AJK poll rigging

Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of attempting to rig elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) through intimidation and coercion, warning the party to restrain its workers.

In a statement, Sharjeel alleged that the PML-N was using "strong-arm tactics" to influence the electoral process, adding that such efforts would be resisted. "The party should control its hooligans. We will not allow elections in Kashmir to be stolen through force," he said. He further claimed that the PML-N leadership believed "everyone can be bought," accusing it of trying to sway voters through inducements.

The senior minister alleged that activists linked to the PML-N had killed a PPP worker, calling it a continuation of what he described as the party's "fascist behaviour." He also criticised the Election Commission for remaining silent over what he termed the "open display of weapons" by PML-N candidates.
