'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer debuts at Comic-Con with Doctor Doom against Marvel's biggest heroes

Marvel Studios unveiled a brand-new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday during its Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, offering fans their most detailed look yet at Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom and teasing an epic showdown that unites the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men.

The exclusive footage opens with Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, confronting Victor Von Doom, portrayed by Downey Jr., before the villain declares that Earth's heroes have "lived stolen lives" and must give them back. The trailer suggests Doom is determined to rewrite reality as he assembles an army of Sentinels to wage war across the multiverse.

Marvel also revealed new footage featuring Thor battling Doom's forces, while Sue Storm reflects on the tragic history she shares with Victor Von Doom. The preview identifies Doom as originating from Earth-828, the same universe as the Fantastic Four, hinting that his personal relationships with Marvel's First Family will be central to the story.

The footage teases one of the MCU's largest ensembles to date, bringing together Sam Wilson's Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandan heroes and the original X-Men from the Fox films. Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter is also confirmed to return, while familiar faces including Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd and Pedro Pascal appeared on stage alongside directors Joe and Anthony Russo during the Hall H presentation.

Marvel has positioned Avengers: Doomsday as the studio's biggest crossover event since Avengers: Endgame. The film will see heroes from multiple universes unite against Doctor Doom before the Multiverse Saga concludes with Avengers: Secret Wars.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in cinemas on December 18, 2026.
