KARACHI:

With heavy monsoon rains forecast across Sindh, the provincial government has placed all relevant institutions on high alert, mobilising emergency resources and directing authorities to remain on standby to minimise risks to life and property.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said all district administrations, along with town- and union council-level authorities, had been instructed to stay fully prepared. Rescue agencies and other relevant departments have also been directed to ensure complete operational readiness and maintain an immediate response capability to deal with any emergency.

He said the Sindh government was fully prepared to respond to any potential emergency. Heavy machinery, dewatering pumps, pumping equipment and other essential resources are being deployed to vulnerable areas, while emergency response centres have been activated at multiple locations, including Karachi, Jamshoro and Sukkur.
