'Avatar: Seven Havens' gets first trailer and confirms October release date on Paramount+
Avatar: Seven Havens has unveiled its first teaser trailer and confirmed an October 9 release date on Paramount+, with the announcement made during San Diego Comic-Con alongside new details about the expanding Avatar franchise.

The series follows the next Avatar after Korra in a post-apocalyptic world where the Avatar is believed to be humanity’s destroyer rather than its savior.

Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios debuted the first footage from the new animated series, which is set after the events of The Legend of Korra.
The 26-episode series follows a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar in a world left devastated by a catastrophic event.
Rather than being welcomed as humanity's protector, the new Avatar is branded as its destroyer.
Hunted by enemies from both the human and spirit worlds, she must join forces with her long-lost twin to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilisation's last remaining strongholds collapse.
The trailer offers the first look at the new protagonist and the fractured world she inhabits, while confirming the series will premiere on Paramount+ on October 9.
The announcement came during Comic-Con, where Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko also introduced their upcoming animated feature, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender.
Speaking to Reuters, DiMartino said the decision to begin Avatar Studios with a feature film came from the studio's ambition to make a major return to the franchise.
"We had a lot of ideas for different projects in TV and film," DiMartino said. "The idea to start with a feature came more from the studio because if we're going to come back, we're going to come back big."
He added that focusing on an older Aang felt like "a natural progression of the original story."
The creators also reflected on setbacks during production after the film leaked online earlier this year following changes to its release plans.
Despite those challenges, both said they remain optimistic about the future of Avatar Studios and credited the franchise's passionate fanbase for its continued success.
Avatar: Seven Havens becomes the latest addition to the Avatar universe, joining the original animated series, Netflix's live-action adaptation and Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender as the franchise continues to expand.
