Sindh pitches investment, green transit to UK delegation

A high-level delegation from the British High Commission called on Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, at his residence on Thursday, where both sides discussed a wide range of issues, including investment prospects, youth development, women's empowerment and regional challenges.

The British delegation included Political Counsellor Nicole Roberts, Deputy High Commissioner Tom Bridge, Second Secretary (Political) Sam Place, Huda Ikram and Sarah Pang. The Sindh side was led by Sharjeel and included Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani and Mukesh Kumar Chawla, along with Special Assistants Qasim Naveed Qamar and Qasim Siraj Soomro, and MPA Imdad Pitafi.

According to an official statement, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on investment opportunities in Sindh, environmental protection and the promotion of technical and vocational skills among youth.

The visiting delegation was briefed on the provincial government's ongoing initiatives in public welfare, education, employment generation and development projects under the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The British officials appreciated the province's efforts in areas such as women's development, eco-friendly transport and investment facilitation.
