Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe end relationship 1 year after 'Love Island USA'

The two reportedly split due to difficulties maintaining a relationship because of distance and demanding schedules

Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe have ended their relationship just over a year after meeting on Love Island USA, according to People.

A source told the publication that the former couple “decided to part ways” after finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their relationship because of distance and demanding schedules.

“The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection,” the source said. “They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”

Carthen and Vansteenberghe became one of the most popular couples from season seven of the Peacock reality series after connecting during the Casa Amor twist.

Their romance developed after Cierra Ortega left the villa, with Carthen previously telling People she had initially held back because she did not want to interfere with Vansteenberghe’s existing pairing.

Reflecting on their relationship after the show, Carthen described choosing Vansteenberghe as the “best decision I could have ever made”, while he said he had been her “secret admirer from day one”.

Following the series, the couple confirmed their relationship but chose to keep much of it away from social media.

Speaking to Glamour last year, they said balancing public interest with their private lives had been challenging. Carthen later told Cosmopolitan that the ongoing scrutiny of their relationship “kind of creeps me out”.

Despite their separation, the pair reportedly remain on good terms and continue to have mutual respect and support for one another.
