Youth beaten to death over street dispute

JARANWALA:

A young man was allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod by two men following a dispute over standing in a residential street in Jaranwala, police said on Wednesday.

As per the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of City Jaranwala police station in Muhammad Bibi Colony.

The FIR, lodged by the victim's brother, Muhammad Sajjad Butt, stated that three days before the attack, his brother, Ehtesham, had asked the suspects—identified as Malik Ali, Malik Maqsood and Moazzam—not to stand in their street.

The request reportedly led to an argument and a physical altercation.

The complainant alleged that on the night of the incident, Ehtesham was returning home from the city when the suspects intercepted him and assaulted him with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured.
