Man shot dead in Vehari robbery

A man was shot dead by armed robbers after withdrawing millions of rupees from a bank in a broad daylight robbery in Vehari on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Daniwal Police Station near Shan Chowk in Muslim Town.

According to preliminary police information, Siraj Bhatti, a resident of Chak 228/EB, had withdrawn a large amount of cash from a bank and was on his way home when two unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted him near Shan Chowk.

Police said the suspects allegedly opened fire after the victim resisted the robbery, leaving him critically injured. The robbers then snatched a shopping bag containing millions of rupees in cash and fled the scene.
