Bugti hails Balochistan anti-terror operations

Says Surab and Mastung IBOs dismantled terrorist hideouts

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday praised the army, security forces, and law enforcement agencies for carrying out successful intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Surab and Mastung, describing them as a major breakthrough in the province's ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

In a statement, Bugti said the operations conducted over the past 48 hours resulted in the elimination of terrorists, the destruction of terrorist hideouts, and the arrest of suspects allegedly involved in planning suicide attacks. He termed the coordinated actions a reflection of the professionalism, operational preparedness, and unwavering commitment of security institutions to ensuring peace and stability.

The chief minister said the intelligence-led operations had effectively disrupted terrorist networks and prevented hostile elements from executing their alleged plans. He noted that the success of the operations underscored the importance of close coordination between security and law enforcement agencies in protecting the province from militant threats.

Reaffirming the provincial government's commitment to maintaining law and order, Bugti said Balochistan would continue to work in close partnership with the army and other security institutions to strengthen public safety and security. He stressed that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens remains the government's top priority.

Expressing confidence in continued cooperation between the federal and provincial governments and security agencies, Bugti said sustained counterterrorism efforts would help establish lasting peace, encourage investment, and support long-term economic development and prosperity across Balochistan.
