Plot auction dispute ends
.

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has agreed to cancel the auction of 16 residential plots in the upscale Westridge-I locality and refund the amounts paid by the highest bidders, bringing to an end a legal dispute over the inclusion of a parking area and part of a public road within one of the plots.
The assurance was given before the Lahore High Court (LHC)'s Rawalpindi Bench, during proceedings on a writ petition filed by retired Major Shamsheer against the Federation of Pakistan and others.
Following the board's undertaking, Justice Jawad Hassan disposed of the petition as having become infructuous, observing that the petitioner's grievances had been adequately addressed.
