Man dies after fatal wife stabbing

A man accused of attempting suicide by ingesting acid after stabbing his wife to death with a knife during a domestic dispute in Kahuta has died in the hospital during treatment.

According to police sources, the accused, Shakeel, had killed his wife, Fauzia, by stabbing her on the neck over a domestic dispute. After the incident, he tried to commit suicide by consuming acid, after which, he was shifted to Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, in a critical condition, where he died during treatment.

According to the FIR, six days before the incident, the victim had told her brother that her husband was torturing her and threatening to kill her. The FIR further states that on the day of the incident, at around 3.30pm, Ali's niece, Ayesha, reported that there had been an argument between Shakeel and Fauzia.

Ali stated that after he shouted at Shakeel, he tossed the knife on the table and ran towards the stairs. He then reportedly picked up a bottle of acid and drank it, collapsing on the spot.
