SSC position holders: Over 140 tribal students awarded

PESHAWAR:

Over 140 students of the state-run high schools in tribal areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were awarded prizes for securing first, second and third positions in the Senior School Certificate (SSC) examination held in 2009-10.

The awards were distributed by the Political administration of Bajaur Agency, in collaboration with the Education Department Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, to encourage and motivate the students in their future studies.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Additional Political Agent (APA) Usman Khalid congratulated and praised the students, especially the girl position-holders for their courage of getting education despite difficult circumstances in the area.

He stressed upon the students to focus only on their studies and the government will provide every possible facility to educate the new tribal generation.

“It is our moral and national obligation to equip the students with quality education and encourage them for a better future,” he added.

Government officials, tribal elders, teachers, students and their parents were also present on the occasion.
