Time for new global order: Mushahid

BEIJING:

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, during his keynote address to the World Peace Forum (WPF), organised by the prestigious Tsinghua University in the Chinese capital, said "The time has come for a new global order to emerge from the Global South since the post-World War-II Western-led rules-based order is unravelling due to its double standards as it neither promoted order nor was based on any rules".

The World Peace Forum was addressed by the Vice President of China, Han Zheng, whose speech in the inaugural session was followed by Senator Mushahid Hussain's keynote address to an audience of about 100 international guests from 30 countries. Speakers at the WPF, including the former foreign ministers of Indonesia and Serbia as well as the Chinese hosts, lauded Pakistan's proactive diplomacy which they said is a "source of strength for peace, security and stability in the greater Middle East region and South Asia".
