Sindh Wildlife Department recovered two rare deer being smuggled in Khairpur and registered a case against a suspect. Acting on a tip-off, a Wildlife Department team set up a checkpoint near Dua Hotel on the Khairpur-Umerkot Road. During the operation, a suspicious vehicle traveling from New Chhor to Umerkot was stopped and searched.
As a result, two rare deer were recovered from the vehicle. Both deer have been taken into custody and shifted to a safe location.
The official said a case has been registered against the accused under the Sindh Wildlife Act and legal proceedings have been initiated.
He added that necessary measures are also being taken for the protection, medical examination, and proper care of the recovered deer.
He further stated that indiscriminate action will continue against elements involved in illegal smuggling, sale, and hunting of wildlife. Strict implementation of the law will be ensured for the protection of rare wildlife.
