'Derelict' Lyari building wall demolished

KARACHI:

Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) demolished a highly dilapidated projection wall of a residential building in Daryaabad, Lyari Town on an emergency basis.

According to an SBCA spokesperson, the projection wall of a ground-plus-five residential building located on Plot No. 3051, Street No. 3, had deteriorated to a dangerous extent. The relevant authorities feared the wall could collapse at any time, posing a serious threat to human lives and property.

Upon receiving the information, SBCA and the deputy commissioner South immediately took notice of the matter. After assessing the situation, SBCA DG Dr Waseem Shamshad ordered immediate action, while Additional Director General Farhan Qaiser directed the director demolition to take necessary steps without delay.

Acting on the orders, the SBCA demolition team reached the site promptly, completed all safety measures, and safely demolished the dangerous projection wall, averting a potential loss of life and property in time.

Area residents appreciated the swift and effective action.
