Governor hopes Sindh water crisis to be resolved

MIRPUR BATHORO:

Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi has said that the water shortage issue in Sindh will be resolved through talks with the federal government.

Speaking to reporters after offering condolences and Fateha at the residence of late PML-N Sujawal District President Lal Bakhsh Jatoi in village Muhammad Khan Majeedi, the governor said "Sindh was one, is one and will remain one till the day of judgment."

He said the sudden demise of Lal Bakhsh Jatoi was a great loss to PML-N. "He was not only a responsible office-bearer of the party but also a true helper of the poor and deserving people," he added.

The governor said that federal government funding is also part of the ongoing development road projects in Sindh.

Responding to a question, he reiterated that Sindh's unity was unshakable. Nihal Hashmi further said that the more powers are devolved to the grassroots level, the greater the benefit to the people. He assured that the issue of water scarcity would be settled through dialogue with the federal government.

He said the federal government has already sent 100,000 students to Europe on scholarships, while laptops have also been distributed among students in all universities of Sindh.

The governor stressed that the establishment of an NICVD, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, and a medical university in District Sujawal was an urgent need to provide better healthcare facilities to the local population.

On the occasion, the governor also placed a turban on the head of the late Lal Bakhsh Jatoi's son, Hassnain Jatoi, and said that PML-N would never leave him alone.

Federal Minister of State Kheal Das Kohistani, Coordinator to PM Youth Programme Fahad Shafiq, PML-N Sindh Media Coordinator Khurram Bhatti, PML-N Hyderabad Division President and All-Sindh Coordinator Khalid Aziz Arain, Acting President PML-N Sujawal Malik Sharif Laghari and others were present with the governor.
