HYDERABAD:

A man has been arrested as a prime suspect in the murder case of his four years old child, who was stabbed to death in his uncle's house in Pir Colony in Tando Allahyar district in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to A-Section police, the suspect Mumtaz Qambrani allegedly sneaked into the residence of his brother in law, where his wife had been staying for over a week since she left Qambrani's house after a quarrel, and stabbed his son Fayaz to death.

The police told that the neighbours who came out of their house after hearing screams of a woman caught Qambrani when he was allegedly escaping. The A-Section police also detained two more family members for interrogation. Hours before the murder, Qambrani had allegedly knocked his brother in law's door, asking his wife for a meeting with his son.

The incident's FIR could not be registered by the evening. The body of the child was shifted to the civil hospital for postmortem. Qambrani denied killing his son while talking to the media in the police station.

Separately, in the case of alleged rape and murder of an 11 years old boy in a seminary, a civil judge and judicial magistrate on Sunday granted four-day physical remand of Noor Ali Babbur, a student, and Riaz Kario, a teacher, to Chambarh police. The deceased Imran Korai, son of Ali Nawaz Korai, was allegedly raped and poisoned by the suspect at a seminary in Chambarh.

Earlier, Tando Allahyar's SSP Syed Saleem Shah told a press conference that the police had rounded up Babbur and Kario in connection with the murder.
