Man shot by father-in-law

A young man was critically injured after his father-in-law allegedly shot him.
Police said 22-year-old Farhan, a resident of Rehmat Town, was riding his motorcycle when his father-in-law Abdul Khaliq allegedly opened fire on him near the locality.
The suspect reportedly attacked Farhan over a grudge stemming from the court marriage of the couple after eloping. Ghulam Muhammad Abad police reached the scene and launched an investigation.
In another incident, Naseem Akhtar was shot and injured over a dispute in Chak 75-RB Lohke near Khurrianwala. Aqib Ali suffered bullet injuries after unidentified assailants opened fire on him in Bawa Chak.
In Chak 192-GB, Zahid Ali was allegedly shot by Asif and another man. In Chak 153-RB, 37-year-old Bashiran Bibi was allegedly stabbed and injured by her father-in-law.
Meanwhile, Imran was attacked with rods, knives and daggers by his rivals in the Jhang Bazaar area. Sufyan Asghar was shot by Adil and others in Chak 209-RB. Haji Younis was injured in an assault allegedly by Rana Dilbar and four accomplices in Sabzi Mandi, while 18-year-old Jibran suffered gunshot injuries on Jhang Road Timber Market and Aqib in Chak 119-JB Samana.
Meanwhile, police booked the owner, manager and eight employees of a marriage hall for allegedly confining a host, threatening him and stealing valuables after an engagement ceremony.
