JUI-F, PPP initiate LG alliance talks
.

Political maneuvering for the long-delayed local body elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has begun in earnest, with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) holding their first formal consultations.
A delegation from JUI-F's Local Body Election Committee, including Nasir Khan Musazai, Peshawar District General Secretary Ahmed Ali Darwish, former Nazim Muhammad Umar, Malik Siraj, and former Chairman Kaleemullah, met with PPP Peshawar District President Razaullah Khan Chagharmati and General Secretary Khalid Khan.
The meeting expressed complete consensus that the prolonged delay in holding local government elections in the province is contrary to constitutional obligations and democratic norms. Participants stressed the need for all democratic forces to unite so that the people of K-P can exercise their constitutional right to elected local representation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties jointly demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan and the provincial government immediately announce the schedule for local body elections without any further delay, in line with constitutional and democratic requirements.
