CHAK JHUMRA:

A police officer has been dismissed from service for conducting a flawed investigation and allegedly making false statements before the Lahore High Court in connection with an assault case.

During proceedings, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain appeared before the court and briefed it on the facts of the case.

He informed the court that Tarkhani Police Station SHO Tariq Mahmood had been dismissed from service for carrying out a defective investigation and allegedly colluding with the accused.

Following the statement, the LHC ordered that the investigation be reassigned to a different officer and disposed of a petition.
