Three-year-old child drowns in pond

CHANGA MANGA:

A three-year-old boy reportedly drowned after falling into a pond near Khudian Railway Station in Kasur district.

Rescue 1122 continued a search operation with no trace of the child found till the evening. According to rescue officials, an emergency call was received, prompting the immediate dispatch of three rescue vehicles to the scene.

Rescuers said the child, Hasnain, son of Saleem, was near the pond with other children who were trying to catch chickens when he accidentally slipped into deep water and disappeared.

Officials said the pond was about eight feet deep and 300 feet wide. Rescue 1122 divers launched a search for the boy.However, no trace of him had been found till the evening.

Rescue authorities urged parents to keep children away from ponds, canals and other deep waterbodies.
