Three motorbikes fall into sinkhole

LAHORE:

A section of a road near Nishtar Colony caved in, causing three motorcycles to fall into a sinkhole.

Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene and pulled out the motorcycles a crane. According to rescue officials, no injury was reported.

The affected stretch of road was temporarily closed as authorities assessed the damage and implemented safety measures. The cause of the cave-in was not immediately clear.

Rescue data showed that 251 road traffic crashes were reported in Lahore on Thursday, which affected 294 persons.

As per the data, at least 16 people died, whereas 1,483 were injured in 1,298 road traffic crashes in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

After the incidents, 637 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 846 victims with minor injuries were treated at the sitew by Rescue Medical Teams.

The victims included 912 adult and 60 underage drivers, 156 pedestrians and 437 passengers.

The data showed 1,255 of the victims were male and 255 female, while 258 were under 18 years of age, 819 between 18 and 40 years and 418 above 40 years.
