A boy was allegedly subjected to rape before being poisoned to death in a seminary in Tando Allahyar district on Wednesday. The police informed that the incident happened in a seminar located close to a branch of National Bank of Pakistan in Chambarh.

The deceased, 11-year-old Imran Korai, son of Ali Nawaz Korai, was shifted to government hospital Chambarh in unconscious condition. The doctors declared him dead on arrival.

SSP Syed Saleem Shah said the postmortem and forensic reports, which are being awaited, would further lay bare the facts. Shah told that he has assigned the incident's inquiry to a special police team, assuring that all aspects of the case will come under probe.

The police have so far recorded statements of 20 students of that seminary whose five staff members have been detained. The police have temporarily sealed the facility. The boy, meanwhile, was laid to rest in a graveyard in village Sono Korai on Thursday. The incident's FIR could not be registered by Thursday evening.

The Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident and directed DIG Hyderabad to submit report.
