Dutch textile firm opens office in Lahore
Netherlands' Beddinghouse shifts from sourcing to strategic investment in Pakistan

Pakistan's economic diplomacy has secured another significant milestone as The Beddinghouse, one of the Netherlands' leading home textile companies, announced plans to substantially expand its long-term engagement with Pakistan by establishing a permanent corporate presence, investing in skilled human capital and partnering in circular textile innovation.
The announcement came during a meeting between Pakistan's Ambassador to the Netherlands Syed Haider Shah, and The Beddinghouse Chief Executive Officer Henriette van Beynum at the head office of The Beddinghouse in Lisse, the Netherlands.
Having sourced textile products from Pakistan for several decades, the company informed the ambassador that it now regards Pakistan as a strategic partner for future growth rather than merely a sourcing destination. As part of this vision, The Beddinghouse is finalising the establishment of its first corporate office in Lahore and has initiated the recruitment of senior Pakistani professionals to lead its local operations.
The company also unveiled its "Circular Dreams" initiative, aimed at developing a circular textile value chain by converting post-consumer textile waste collected in the Netherlands into recycled yarns and finished products through Pakistan's advanced textile manufacturing ecosystem. Company executives observed that Pakistan's vertically integrated textile industry, technical expertise and growing focus on sustainability make it well-positioned to become a key partner in Europe's transition towards a circular economy.
The Beddinghouse CEO appreciated the significant progress made by Pakistani textile manufacturers in renewable energy, water stewardship, emissions reduction, social compliance, workforce development and women's empowerment, describing these developments as enhancing Pakistan's competitiveness in global markets.
