K-P raises allowances for govt employees

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a major increase in various allowances for provincial government employees, including doubling the travel allowance for disabled staff from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000 per month.
Following cabinet approval, the Finance Department has issued separate notifications outlining the re-vised benefits, which will be implemented from July 1, and reflected in the monthly salaries of employ-ees and officers.
Under the new package, house requisition allowance for officers in Grades 3 to 22 serving in the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister's Secretariat, and Governor's Secretariat has been substantially raised, with amounts ranging from Rs6,000 to Rs52,000. The allowance for Provincial Public Service Commission employees has been increased from 20 to 33 per cent.
Planning allowance for Planning and Development (P&D) Department employees, previously calculated at 120 per cent of the 2017 initial basic pay, will now be based on the 2022 initial basic pay.
Similarly, jail staff allowances will shift to 100 per cent of the 2022 initial basic pay. The allowance for Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs, earlier at 60 per cent, has been enhanced to 100 per cent of the 2022 initial basic pay. Audit and Accounts allowance has been raised from 20 to 30 per cent.
