Cop dies after being run over by dumper

A sub-inspector of the National Highways and Motorway Police, Javed Akbar Shinwari, was run over by a dumper while performing official duties on the GT Road near Kamra. He later succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

According to officials, the footage shows Sub-Inspector Javed Shinwari regulating heavy traffic when one dumper was moving forward while another reversed and then moved ahead. The reversing dumper allegedly ran over the officer due to the driver's negligence.

The footage also shows other motorway police personnel rushing towards their injured colleague before chasing the dumper involved in the accident.

Motorway Police officials said the injured officer was shifted to THQ Hospital Hazro but died during treatment.
