A three-wicket haul by Mumbai Indians captain Harbhajan Singh helped dismiss Trinidad and Tobago for a paltry 98. Mumbai then left themselves in a tough spot after losing their first five wickets for just 33 runs following a fine spell of bowling from Ravi Rampaul. The match went down to the wire with Mumbai needing 11 in the final over. A six from Lasith Malinga was followed by two run-outs, leading to a dramatic finale as Yuzvendra Chahal scored the two runs required for victory off the final ball of the game.
Despite being defeated, though, T&T batsman Denesh Ramdin preferred to take positives out of the match and looked forward to a better result when T&T take on New South Wales (NSW) today. “We are disappointed at the defeat, but we fought well and stretched Mumbai,” said Ramdin.
