Zaman to face Farhan in squash final

Overcomes Waqar at COAS International semi-final.

KARACHI: Manzoor Zaman booked his place in the final of the Chief of Army Staff International 2011 after overcoming Waqar Mehboob in a five-set thriller.

Zaman will face Farhan Mehboob, who beat Yasir Butt 3-1 in the other last-four match, in the final of the $12,000 tournament today. Zaman won the first set 11-8 before Waqar staged a comeback and clinched the following two 11-9, 11-8. However, Zaman was not outdone yet and won the last two sets 11-5 and 11-7 to advance to the final. Farhan also faced resistance after winning the first set 11-6 as he went down in the second 11-8. However, Farhan completed the job in the next two sets 11-5, 11-9.
