Country singer Zach John King has cancelled his scheduled performances for the next two weeks following the sudden death of his father, John King.

The announcement was made through an emotional social media post on July 14, in which the singer paid tribute to the man he described as the foundation of his family.

Reflecting on the unexpected loss, King added, “We wanted 25 more years with him, and that pain will cut deep for the rest of my life.”

He confirmed he would take time away from performing to grieve with his family before returning to the stage.

“After that, imma do what my dad would want me to do and get back to work,” he wrote.

King concluded his tribute by sharing the final words his father spoke on the day of his death: “Today is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” He added, “I love you, dad. I’ll see you soon.”

King is expected to resume performances after the two-week mourning period, with appearances previously scheduled at festivals and on tour dates alongside Luke Bryan and Riley Green.
