Martyrs' sacrifices must be respected: Sharjeel Memon

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Tuesday said that martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for the country's defence were a source of pride for the entire nation, and that any attempt to undermine their sacrifices was deeply regrettable.

Memon said the armed forces had rendered immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, defence of national borders and protection of national security, adding that recognising and respecting these sacrifices was a national and moral responsibility of every citizen.He said ignoring the sacrifices of martyrs' families or making irresponsible remarks about them was unacceptable. However, he added that while democracy guaranteed the right to express differences of opinion, criticism targeting martyrs went against national unity.
