Selena Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, has responded to speculation about her relationship with her daughters after an Instagram post prompted some fans to question whether it hinted at family tensions.

Teefey shared a photograph of Selena Gomez and her younger daughter, 13-year-old Gracie Elliot Teefey, alongside a light-hearted caption reflecting on motherhood.

"My greatest accomplishments, love me or not," Teefey wrote. "They are the coolest. I one day they will see what a bad a** I am and love me back as much as I love them. I’m just mom. Who never gives up when they throw me in the trash."

The Instagram carousel also included humorous memes, including one reading "She outgrew what drained her" and another showing a doll in a rubbish bin with the caption: "Me when I have to run the business I manifested."

While Teefey appeared to be joking, one follower interpreted the post differently, commenting: "WTF, Mandy. If you’re having issues with them, you shouldn’t post this on social media. People will take it out of context and keep hating on Selena. I don’t know what’s going on, but go talk to your daughter instead of creating drama."

Teefey quickly dismissed the suggestion, replying: "Girl. It’s [a typical] moms not cool joke. Calm down. lol."

This is not the first time Teefey has addressed speculation about her relationship with Selena Gomez. In September 2025, she rejected rumours claiming she was upset about not walking her daughter down the aisle during her wedding to Benny Blanco. Instead, Selena's grandfather, David Cornett, performed the role.

Responding to those claims at the time, Teefey described the rumours as "ludacris" and said she found it "heartwarming" to see David Cornett walk Selena down the aisle.
