Late actress Daveigh Chase left behind an estate valued at approximately $400,000 despite reports that she had been experiencing homelessness before her death at age 35.

According to probate documents obtained by Us Weekly, Chase's mother, Cathy Chase, has petitioned to be appointed administrator of her daughter's estate. The filing states that the former child star left behind $400,000 in personal property and no real estate. Because Daveigh was never married and had no children, Cathy requested to oversee the estate. A probate hearing is scheduled for Aug. 12.

The court filings also state that estate funds cannot be spent without court approval, and Cathy has requested a $400,000 bond.

The documents come weeks after Chase's death. Her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, initially said she had been battling meningitis and a blood infection that led to sepsis. However, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later ruled that she died of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), with chronic polysubstance use listed as a contributing factor. Her death was ruled natural.

Chase rose to fame as a child actor with roles in Donnie Darko and The Ring, while also voicing Lilo in Disney's Lilo & Stitch and Chihiro in the English-language version of Spirited Away. She largely stepped away from acting in the mid-2010s, with her final film appearances coming in 2016.
