Actor Komal Aziz sparked discussion on social media after sharing her views on financially supporting one's parents, saying she doesn't believe women should be responsible for covering familial expenses and crediting her father for ensuring her mother's financial independence after his death.
During a question-and-answer session on her Instagram stories, fans asked Komal whether she supported her widowed mother. Responding to the question, Komal wrote, "Nope. I don't believe in women paying the family bills. This is a man's job."
She added, "Thanks to my father for leaving enough for my mother that she will never be dependent on her children. This is why savings and investments are important guys."

The actor's remarks on financial responsibility generated mixed reactions online. Many argued that supporting one's parents should not be determined by gender and that children should help their parents if they are able to.
Others, however, defended Komal, saying her comments had been taken out of context. They agreed with her emphasis on the importance of financial planning and noted that her father had ensured his wife's financial security through savings and investments.
Recently, the actor garnered attention on social media after she revealed that she had been living independently for the past 1.5 years with her family's full support. Her remarks regarding self-reliant living resonated with many who viewed her experience as offering a different perspective on personal independence, particularly as a woman in Pakistan.
On the career front, Komal recently stepped away from acting to focus on her personal life. Meanwhile, she runs her own fashion brand, Omal by Komal.
