Crackdown: Police arrest dozens in September

FAISALABAD: District police has launched a crackdown against criminals in the district and has arrested dozens of robbers, proclaimed offenders and drug dealers from different points in the city. According to police officials, they have recovered illegal weapons from the robbers as well as drugs and liquor. The raiding police teams also managed to recover five pistols, one revolver and ammunition from their possession. Meanwhile, police also arrested 43 proclaimed offenders including 10 A-category offenders and 33 B-category offenders. Police has also apprehended 32 court absconders so far in September. Police officials said that they had recovered illegal weapons and recovered one Kalashnikov, three rifles, six guns, 38 pistols and ammunition from their possession. Police officials also apprehended 43 drug dealers this month and managed to seize over 9kg of opium, 6kg of charas and 20 bottles of liquor. Police officials also closed down two distilleries in the district. Police have registered separate cases against the accused.
